How to Purchase in Lazada Without a Credit Card?

One of the fast growing company today in Southeast Asia is Lazada Group. If you are a person who normally purchase online, then you are very familiar on how this company operates. When you are looking for something and you can't find it elsewhere in your local shopping malls, then you might want to check your item in Lazada's website.

In Lazada, you can almost shop just about anything. The good thing about Lazada is that you usually get to pay for your purchased item only when it arrives in your doorsteps. This is one of its advantages: Cash-On-Delivery. You don't usually get to purchase it online through a credit card.

However, there are some cases where your item of choice cannot be paid in COD. These items are normally purchased abroad. For example, this:

How to Change Guest Name and Other Flight Details After Booking Ticket?

It's been a while that I haven't updated this blog, but praise God that He enabled me to write once again. As we all know and should recognize, the Lord is the provider and enabler of everything. Because of my hectic schedule in work and the same time (I'm ashamed to say) because of my idleness, I neglected updating my blog. Which in return I am regretting.

Now for a fresh start, I would like to share to you a very important lesson that I just learned a couple of days ago (last Saturday) after I booked my ticket in Cebu Pacific Air. This probably happened to you, if not, then you should be aware on what to do when facing such problem. The problem happened first when I neglected to double check every single letter that I typed when booking a ticket.

Last Saturday evening, a dear friend of mine asked for help. She's actually one of my closest friends and I'm not the type of person who ignores someone who's asking for help....especially her. Well, her story was that her brother didn't catch his flight. She wanted me to book her brother a trip to Manila on Sunday morning, which is the next day. So just like a life-saver, I immediately opened my laptop and tried to surf the net for an affordable flight. But too bad, in such a bad timing, I couldn't get a good signal from my room. So I just decided to book her brother's flight in an internet cafe. Praise God I found one near our boarding house.

After an hour of communicating the flight schedule with her, on which flight his brother wants, she decided to have me book on Cebu Pacific Air. The base fare for that trip was actually very expensive but her brother doesn't have any choice...as much as I am. For I'm about to lend them a ticket price of more than P5000!

Now, to the good (or shall I say bad) part. After booking her brother's ticket, my heart just sank and I was in a state of melancholy after seeing the itinerary receipt. I just had her brother's name misspelled! Do you know who's the culprit of my unfocused mindset when booking? You might be right, or probably wrong...it was Facebook! Yeah..so dumb right?

An immediate response that I did was to search on the net for a possible solution from my problem. Her brother's flight is tomorrow morning and with such a high price at stake, it would be very depressing on my part to just let it go. To my surprise, there haven't been any article written on what to do when facing such situation. There was one blog that I've read but her solution was to make a written document, have it notarized in an attorney and give it to any Cebu Pacific Air branch. This is not a good option to take for my part.

So when you faced such situation, here's what to do. Just CALL Cebu Pacific Air's customer service as soon as possible! Don't do anything online after booking! If you're in a frantic mode, you might think that cancelling your flight would be best. I don't know if it will be refunded but I'm sure that a transaction have been made in my ATM/credit card.

Here are their contact numbers:

CALL CENTER
Manila Office: Tel: +63-2-70-20-888
Cebu Office: Tel: +63-32-230-8888

The call center agent will require you the confirmation number, schedule and destination of your booked flight, and other necessary information that would convince them you're authentic.

Praise God I was able to find a telephone, call Cebu Pacific Air and have them change the single letter of my friend's brother! They will then send you a revised itinerary receipt to your email.

Oh, did I just forgot to tell you that I booked her brother's ticket at 11:51 pm, Saturday? Haha... God is so good!

"Password" as the World's Most Common Password! How to Make a Secure One?

Thinking of a good and secure password in your online account? Well before doing that, here's one thing that would probably get your attention. Do you know what's the most common password that people mistakenly choose and thought to be secured? It's the word "Password" itself!

Image via Wikipedia

You might think that hackers won't have any logic in figuring up your password, well according to statistics, that's not the case. As a matter of fact, the word "Password" tops the list of passwords that are commonly used in the internet (as compiled by password management application provider SpashData).

By inputting commonly used passwords, hackers can then easily get the information they need, may it be your email accounts, social networking accounts or much worse, you bank accounts. Hackers can easily steal your identity and use your accounts in any way they please if the password you're using is very fragile.

The following are the list of words commonly used by people as their password/s. Maybe your using one (hope not).

password
123456
12345678
qwerty
abc123
monkey
1234567
letmein
trustno1
dragon
baseball
111111
iloveyou
master
sunshine
ashley
bailey
passw0rd
shadow
123123
654321
superman
qazwsx
michael
football

So how do you choose a secure password to protect yourself? Well, here are the following tips to know when creating one.

1. Don't use any word that may have any personal relation to you such as your name, birthdate, age, address, or anything that can attached in relation to your identity.
2. Make your password 8 or more characters long.
3. When choosing, avoid using words that have only one variety or type and try using as many special characters, numbers and letters as possible and mixing them all up. Example of a weak password: "dashboard", why not make it like this: "D@5hb0aRd"
4. Avoid using the same password in other internet accounts. Always avoid using your email password to other accounts such as facebook or twitter.

Identity and online theft is common in the internet world today, and so it's good to have a strong, secure and well-protected password to avoid being a victim of hackers.

How Do CAPTCHAs Separate Humans From Machines?

Have you ever wondered why every time you'd like to comment on an article, blog posts or download a file on different file sharing sites like 4shared and filesonic, CAPTCHAs always require you to enter some twisted and hard to decipher words? What's the purpose of those contorted words anyways? Well, for our own benefit and information, CAPTCHAs were invented by computer scientists to prevent spamming machines from posting such unwanted ads or links in sites. CAPTCHAs determine whether a visitor who tries to post is a human being or a computer. People who invented CAPTCHAs learned and observed that the easiest and effective way to block spamming machines is by using images of language. Spammers can be detected easily and be deceived by using such images of language that are texts in a randomly generated and uniquely constructed manner such that a human can hardly read it. But for a computer to decipher, it would be impossible.
