Filipino Flash Victorious in Match but fans were not happy?!

The "Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire was victorious in his fight at Madison's Square Garden Theater in New York City against Argentinian fighter Omar Narvaez via a unanimous decision from all three judges at ringside. Donaire, improving his professional record to 27-1 with 18 knockouts, did not make the fans happy about the entire duration of the fight. The match was not the typical exciting performance of the "Filipino Flash", as the fans booed both fighters during most of the rounds. Donaire dominated the entire match but the Argentinian fighter was very tough to crack open.

Narvaez, who's record declined to 35-1-2 with 19 knockouts, was all about defense in the entire fight. Many or most of the boxing fans in the world were disappointed about the Argentinian's performance. All three judges recorded the bout 120-108 flat. Donaire mentioned in his interview after the fight that he apologizes to the fans for not bringing up the heat in their fight. The Filipino boxer compared his match just like the Manny Pacquiao versus Joshua Clottey fight to be frustrating and boring. Narvaez became like a shell after the fourth round when he was hurt by Donaire's punches. Narvaez just went to survival mode in the entire fight. According to CompuBox, Donaire landed only 99 out of 666 of his power punches (15%) while Narvaez landed only 74 out of 299 (25%), barely not punching at all.

Though it was a disappointing 12 round fight for the fans and Donaire, still the Filipino Flash was able to defend his two Bantamweight Championship belts. Too bad for Narvaez, he only came in to take his check, according to Bob Arum.

For Donaire's future fights as he goes to the next weight division, according to Top's Rank promoter, would either be Jorge Arce of Mexico or Toshiaki Nishioka of Japan. Arum promised that Donaire will be an active fighter on 2012, about 4 fights in that year.

Donaire will be moving up on the next weight class for his next fight because he said that he had a hard time to maintain the 118 lbs weight limit.

Anyways, in the brighter side, let's all be glad for Donaire's win over a tough opponent.
