A 7.2 Magnitude Quake Hit Turkey! Massive Devastation Resulted..

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake shaken the Eastern side of Turkey last Sunday near the border of Iran which resulted to a massive devastation of two cities. Ercis City which is located on the mountainous earthquake-prone area, was the one that acquired a lot of damages as houses and tall buildings tumbled down. More than 270 people were killed, and some survivors were dug out from the massive debris of concretes, bricks, metals and steel bars all piled up after the massive quake. Thousands of Turkish people were also injured in the tragedy. People that were blessed to survive the tragic happening were desperate in digging up their relatives and other people, who might be alive under the piles of rubble, using only their bare hands. According to the news, about 80 buildings collapsed in the city of Ercis.


More than a 100 after shocks were recorded on Monday morning according to the news, and 3 of them reached as high as 4.7 magnitude. In the US, scientist have even said that some after shocks recorded reached 6.0 magnitude. The authorities had already advised the public to stay away from buildings and houses that were damaged because due to many after shocks observed, those infrastructures might collapsed anytime. A number of 2000 and more teams were already deployed for a search-and-rescue operation, together with trained canines that may spot buried people.

Many countries around the world offered aid and assistance to Turkey. These countries include Azerbaijan, Iran, Bulgaria, Israel, Greece, Armenia and United States. Despite some conflicts of Israel and Armenia with Turkey, still the two countries gave a helping aid.
