World's Largest Ten Commandments Tablet VS God's glory revealed & magnified through His Word!

A New Record
A new Guinness World Record was awarded to Baguio City, Philippines, for having the world's largest replica of the bible's Ten Commandments tablet. Unveiling of the 152.90 square meters (1650 square feet) was done last Wednesday and inaugurated by Baguio City officials on top of the hill, which oversees the beautiful resort on the northern side of the city.

The Sponsor
Grace Galindez-Gupana, the sponsor behind the huge building-like structure, had also previously set the same Ten Commandments tablet in Manila way back in the year 2009. The new replica of God's law (whom God wrote using His fingers at Mount Sinai and handed down to Moses for the people of Israel to follow), toppled the previous world record being set. It was only 65 square meters. The new record  is almost two and a half times larger than the previous.

Importance?
This monument of the Ten Commandments definitely shows that Christianity is the major religion in the country. But may I ask you this, do you live accordingly to what was written by God in those two tablets? I would definitely say that you don't. And neither do I. As a matter of fact, we never loved the Lord our God with all of our mind, soul and strength in every second of our lives! And that's bad news!!! To whom? For you and for me. Why? Its simply because He is righteous and just! And we are wicked! And God is angry at the wicked everyday (Psalm 7:11)! And if He is angry, then we deserve eternal punishment in hell, for we deserve it!

So what's the importance of God's Word? Much in every way my friend! To give you some ideas, only through His Word we can know who God really is. What is His standards, rules, commandments, His entire being, His character, His glory, His magnificence, His beauty, His justice, His mercy, His grace, His love, His compassion, His power, His wisdom, His authority, His Kingdom and all the pleasures we can enjoy in being with Him!

In God's Word, we can have eternal life! Jesus Christ said in John 17:3,

"And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."

It means that we can enjoy eternal life by knowing God and Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour! And in His divine Word, we can be acquit, be justified and declared righteous before Him! That's good news!! Right? Yes, it is! But how can we be declared righteous before a Holy God for the bible said in Romans 3:10,

"As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one."?

The answer is found in 1 Corinthians 5:21, it says..

"For He (God) has made Him (Jesus Christ), who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Now that's grace my friends! Pure grace from the Creator Himself! Giving to us a sacrificial lamb (Jesus Christ), who knew no sin (meaning, Jesus never sinned) that will bore or carry all His (God) wrath! (That's what we call the Doctrine of Substitutionary Atonement.) If confess and repent from all our sins, and truly believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, that He died for all of our sins, then we can claim what God said in His Word. That we are now justified! Just as what Romans 8:1 says,

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

So what is the importance of God's Word? It's the Glory of GOD for the salvation of the lost. =)
