Image via WikipediaThe "Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire will be defending his two championship belts, the World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Organization (WBO), in the Bantamweight Division against an unbeaten Argentinian boxer named Omar Narvaez. Donaire with a record of 26-1, has won all of his 25 straight professional fights in a span of more than ten years, and is ready to take another big challenge. He just recently won his two belts last February of this year against a Mexican champion boxer Fernando Montiel by knocking him out on the second round of heir unification championship match. The Filipino fighter is risking two of his belts by taking on the challenge of an undefeated Argentinian foe. The match will be held on October 22, Saturday at 10:30pm at the Theater of Madison's Square Garden, New York. While in the Philippines, it will be on Sunday.Meanwhile, Omar Narvaez is not just any common boxer in the block. Having a professional record of 35-0 with 19 knockouts, the Argentinian fighter should not be taken lightly. Also, Narvaez in not only a southpaw like Donaire but he is also a former world flyweight champion and a reigning super flyweight champion.
This match will be the last of Donaire's fight in the bantamweight division for he said in his previous interviews that he is getting much trouble targeting the 118 lbs. division. The Filipino Flash will be climbing on the next weight division which is the Super Bantamweight where he'll meet more tougher opponents.
