With these in mind, Filipino entrepreneur Danvic Briones had designed an extraordinary bag he called the "72-grab-and-go bag", which he believes would save many lives. Inspired by the "Typhoon Ondoy" disaster last October 2010, the survival gear he designed is able to carry 30 to 50 pounds of personal belongings.
The survival bag also includes first aid kits and tool kits located in front pockets for good accessibility; a 1-liter container for water; a whistle that may come in handy for getting attention for rescuers; a flashlight for brightening dark places; and a compartment for radio or mobile phone, needed for communications.
Other suggested items that are needed to be included in the survival bag are food, Swiss Army knife, rope, clothes, toiletries, garbage bags, and cash.
It would be good for every Filipinos to be ready and well equip when typhoons and other natural calamities visit the country. After all, who wants to experience the horror brought by typhoon Ondoy in the country without any life bag?
